Ozempic (Semaglutide) Injection (2mg/3mL)

Introduction:  Ozempic (Semaglutide) Injection, a prescription medicine, improves blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when used alongside diet and exercise. It falls under the class of drugs known as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists, which increase insulin secretion and decrease glucagon secretion from the pancreas, thus lowering blood sugar levels.

Active Ingredient:
Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Ozempic Semaglutide Injection. It is a synthetic analog of human GLP-1 with 94% structural homology to native human GLP-1.

Ozempic Semaglutide Injection indicates as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It can use alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications, such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.

Administer Ozempic Semaglutide  subcutaneously once weekly, with a recommended dose of 2 mg on the same day each week. Patients can self-administer the injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm after receiving proper training.

Do not use Ozempic Semaglutide Injection in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Do not use in patients with a history of severe gastrointestinal disease, such as gastroparesis.

Side Effects:

Ozempic Injection can cause common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation. These side effects are usually mild to moderate in intensity and resolve with continued use.

Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of pancreatitis, including persistent severe abdominal pain, which may necessitate discontinuing Ozempic Semaglutide Injection. Use Ozempic Semaglutide Injection with caution in patients with a history of pancreatitis.

Storage Instructions:
Store Semaglutide Injection in the refrigerator at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze. Keep the pen in the outer carton to protect it from light. After opening, store the pen at room temperature (below 86°F or 30°C) for up to 56 days.

Clinical trials have associated Semaglutide Injection with an increased incidence of retinopathy complications in patients with a history of diabetic retinopathy. Patients using Ozempic Semaglutide Injection should undergo regular eye examinations.

Direction of Use:
To use Ozempic Semaglutide, first, remove the pen cap and attach a new needle. Then, prime the pen and select the dose. Inject the needle into the skin at a 90-degree angle and press the injection button. Hold the button for 5 seconds, then remove the needle and dispose of it properly.
